Threads Of Life

"A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men; and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects.”

-Herman Melville

In the film “Threads of Life”, we bring together two seemingly opposite worlds through a universal object of a thread. There are threads that intertwine and connect all of these people - and none would be able to have success without the others.

At the core of this film is love and dependence on one-another. Whether you’re living on a farm in Danbury, Iowa or the sprawling reaches of Vietnam - you are vital. Through the juxtaposition of garments being woven together, stitch by stitch, and humans living their daily lives, taking care of their families, we emphasize that everyone is equally important. Humans need each other in the same way that a garment isn’t complete without all of its threads.
